Some of my patterns

Back at the Buzz

I was back at the Buzz cafe again yesterday.  A VERY quiet day - BUT look  what happened.

The lady who's hands you can see (she's wearing a white top) came in on Tuesday just to see what was happening.  When she saw me tatting she was thrilled as she'd inherited her grandma's shuttle.  She brought it back with her yesterday to learn.  BOY is she a fast learner too.

The other lady is another demonstrator who came over to 'play'.  She didn't come til later on but picked up the principal of the 'flipping flip' very quickly too.  Tell you what - I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the morning.  I'm meeting the first lady (Julie) again on Monday to have another 'go'.

Watch out tat land - here she comes.

  2. What fun! I'm waiting to hear from a lady who might want to learn to tat. I might have to open a cafe for us to meet in... one with nice comfy chairs... maybe a B&B so my long-distance friends could come for a visit... oh, dear... my mind is wandering!

Have fun tatting with your new buddies! Happy Easter!

  4. Too bad it was so quiet but it sounds like a successful day anyway. The quiet gave you lots of time to help out two new tatters which is a good thing.

  5. What a FABULOUS place to teach (and learn) tatting! And what a teacher! There should be a big sign announcing that there is a "World-Renowned Tatter on the Premises!!"

I'm sure not many have seen samples of tatting such as those you have on the table, especially the owls and penguins! And I love those comfy chairs!

As usual, you are so generous with your time and talent!

  7. Me again, Jane!

Since you're a veteran Blogger, I thought I'd ask you what the 'new
Blogger interface' is about, as apparently we are all going to be switched over to it soon, automatically. You have mentioned the new 'interface' in your posts, but your blog (happily) still looks the same to me, but another blog I've seen has a black 'bar' at the top which indicates different 'dynamic views' that the visitor can click on to see that blog in a different format. Also, I don't see an 'archive list'. I admit I was kind of confused by it. Also the blog I looked at had no header photo, whereas it had one before. It's kind of confusing to me what this is all about, and I admit I don't always adjust to change easily! I'm not as tech savvy as you are!

  8. Well, Kathy, I'm not sure what's 'new' about blogger myself. I've had what I THINK is the new dashboard interface for ages and there is an option to put 'dynamic' views on the blog but I looked at it and didn't like it so have kept mine 'as is'. If you want to contact me on lovetotat @ gmail.com I'll send you a picture of how my dashboard now looks.

  9. Wow! Thanks for the quick reply about the interface! But I am now getting really worried about the new interface, since you had the option to 'keep' the old one. They claim that they're going to switch everyone sometime in April, and that will be that! They think it's so exciting, but some bloggers are already complaining. I admit I wasn't impressed with the blog that I looked at!

Also, thank you for your comment on my blog a few MINUTES ago (this technology is so amazing - and I DO appreciate that Blogger is free!)

I'm puzzled, though, because all you have to do is click on the photo and then click again (like the old days). Miranda explained about A month ago how we could opt out of the "Lightbox" (with black background), and go back to the double click enlargement system. It's really a large photo on the second click! And you can even make it larger with the percent button! Hope that works!! Let me know if it doesn't!

  10. Thanks, Kathy. I'll look into it all later when I get back from another 'stint' at the Buzz!!!

I am so pleased that I came into the cafe and met you and I can't believe how fortunate I am to have found a super teacher who is teaching with such enthusiasm and generosity! Thank you so much Jane, I'm a lucky girl!
