Progress on the patchwork

I made a few very silly mistakes on this last night!! You know the sort. The ones you make when you start to 'relax' into a pattern!!
I was determined to see if the diamond and square worked together.
THEY DO! I have pressed this (yes, I found the iron!) but that was just so it looked better when scanned. It sits beautifully without any 'teasing' into shape. I don't 'rate' a design until it sits properly on it's own without 'human' intervention at the end.
So, once I've finished this round I'll have to do the triangle. Unless I feel like working out another row!!! The triangle will go on top of the square if I've got it right!

It looks like it going to be a success. That was a good idea to make it like church windows.

I can hardly wait for this pattern, or set of patterns! I know my mom would like to have a patchwork doily!

This is awesome Jane! I love the way tatting can be used to simulate the look of other mediums (ie: quilting, crochet, etc.) I can't wait to see the final design.

I know this is going to turn out great.

And I agree with you that a design should be able to 'sit on its own without human intervention'. That is always what I aim for when tat.

Thanks Jon. I do so HATE things that don't lie well when they're finished. Like you I tat, re-tat, re-re-re-tat until I get the stitch count right to avoid 'lumps and bumps'!!!

Jane...how is this going to be different from your other diamond patchwork? That one is a beauty already. I'm a little behind and haven't had time to study them...does this one have squares?
