Another 'take' on the Winsome!!!

Before I start today - I must draw your attention to two links resulting from Saturday's post.  These are both from people who are more knowledgeable than me about beads!!!  The first is from Gina's blog where she gives a lot of very practical info on what beads to use and where.  I'm also putting this link to a post by Bree's Way.  I've also put a link (top left) on my page so you'll be able to find it easily in future.

There's something about some patterns that keep calling me back!!!!

I bought these safety pin things a few months ago with a brooch in mind.  I wanted something that would be bulky but 'light' in looks to wear on my winter jacket.  Anyway, this is the start of the 'effort'.  It really, really does sparkle!!!   I hope to finish it tomorrow so keep watching!!!!

I have never used those type pins before, you have to tell me how they work, do they open and close easily, and do fibers get caught in them easily/ I am looking for some really nice pins to decorate for shawl pins, and those would be wonderful if they don't get caught in fabric. that one is really pretty, I can't wait to see it finished, and please let me know how you think it works out :D

ty for posting the links, and keep up the wonderful work, I love visiting your site :)

Hi Bri's Bits. They do open and close easily but they are 'bulky'. I'd only use them on woven fabric with an openish weave. Having said that I've put mine on a fleece and it's fine. I'd just not want to take it on and off a lot!! I'd also recommend spraying with fabric protector before wearing too.

Love this pattern, will post my latest earrings soon.
I can understand why you keep coming back to it and that is a great brooch

I like it too, brooches are something that I do wear! I'm trying to imagine how you will finish it off!

Nice beads! And I love what you are making with them. Your pin is so much nicer than safety pins I have have seen others use to make similar things. Love the brooch!

Oooh! I can actually see the sparkle! I remember you mentioning these kilt pins and wondered what you would do with them. I wonder if you could put your little "bead people" on them and change for the seasons?

Hi Jane, Looks great so far. I'm interested to see how you finish the brooch off. I bought a couple of these pins to make a brooch too, but have since gotten side tracked. Maybe now I can get back to it. Have a great day!

Okay - I LOVE the look of this, but I immediately looked at the little ends and thought that I would have to get rid of them, and wondered if there were some way of easily doing that, given there are mainly beads here.

I need help today, not with tatting, but with the over-zealous OCD of finishing what I have done. Often I have about ruined a perfectly good piece in a frenzy of thread=hiding at the end!

Maybe it is merely first-born syndrome gone very bad.
