Well here's what I did with more of those metal 'bits'. I wish I could find another necklace or source for this type of finding cause I've really enjoyed making this. Challenging and a few 'changes of mind' in the progression of it. Actually since scanning this I've cut out the middle one on one side and re-made it!!! I suddenly realised that one side was two very, very tiny links in the chain longer than the other - I couldn't leave it like that!
I think I've JUST got enough 'bits' to make another - all of this for just 99 pence and a small amount of thread and a few beads. Oh, and a bit of patience and time and a decent pair of scissors!!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang used to live just a mile away from me until recently. The guy who owned the car recently sold it to somebody in America. It used to come out often for local events including a demonstration I went on once!!!
It is really good to buy something from a charity shop and then re-invent it into something so spectacular. Good thing I was not with you at the time as we would have fought over that bargain!!!

The necklace is GORGEOUS and so clever! The use of the dark and light colors is wonderful, with the reverse for the central motif! It's just exquisite!
I am assuming that you are tatting night and day! You're sure providing us with endless examples of innovative tatting and beautiful pieces of 'eye candy".
My only disappointment is that Blogger at the moment is NOT allowing us to enlarge photos! I sure hope they clear that up soon!!!
