Final bags

OK, here they all are in all their glory.  I actually made six of them.  I kept thinking of reasons for making more every time I started sewing!!!  Fronts on the top photo, backs on the next and then the fronts of each bag.

Note - one of the bags has no tatting on - that's for Sally so she can add her own.  I'm going to give one of the bags to the Palmetto tatters for them to do 'what they like' with to raise money for 'whatever they like'!!!!  They usually put any extra money towards their scholarship fund so that would be good.

The other four?  I have plans for those!!!!  Not telling what at the moment but you can bet they'll not go in my Etsy shop as I'm sure they'd never sell.  I'd have to ask waaaaay too much for each one to pay for the time involved - least I think I would.

Actually I've no idea what they'd be worth.  Any suggestions?  OR put this another way - what would YOU pay for one?  They're fully lined and washable.  I have a 'tamer' version of a scrap bag that I've been using for about three years now.  In fact, it's this one and it's been through the washing machine a few times too.  I use it most days!!!

The bags look wonderful! Very colourful and very useful. Don't ask me about pricing them though, I have no idea.

Each bag is so different and unique! Really a treasure in itself and a great way to use up the "scraps" of material. Lots of work went into each and everyone, but well worth the effort as they are BEAUTIFUL!!!

They look great all lined up, so looking forward to getting my hands on the one you have made for me.
Which tatting motif did you use yo adorn them? I apologise if you have already posted the answer to that question, but have not had time to go searching through the blog posts I have missed whilst I have been away.

very pretty bags Jane. The Palmetto tatters will be lucky. as for price, I have seen similar bags priced very high, (or at least for me) at $35 to $50 depending on where.

I love these - especially the one with the green butterfly handles!

What a terrific use of fabric odds & ends!

I agree with Ladytats - at least $50, by Toronto standards. They are fun and appealing.

Amazing!

They are truly one of a kind works of art - to use! I can see them being sold for the equivalent of 50 US dollars, or 50 pounds, even - not that I can pay that, LOL!

I think my favourite is the last one, with the purple circle - but wait! the first one is great too, love the contrast of the sunny motif on the blue circle... and the next one, more subtle, is gorgeous as well...

These are just gorgeous! So much work involved, but a great way to use up scraps! Of course the tatted motif is super special! I agree that $35 would be the MINIMUM! Love the decorative stitching at the top, especially on bag #2.

Oh, Jane, they are absolutely beautiful. I'd love the blue circle one (#3) with tatting, but I couldn't pay more than $35. USD either, and I know they're worth much more. (Still, I would buy it, so let me know if you decide and how much!) You really shine with these!

Thank you everybody - specially those who said what they thought they were worth. Interesting as that was roughly what I thought too. There's something very satisfying about making them and I may one day get round to more for the Etsy shop!!! I've a mind to do smaller ones now so 'watch this space'!!!!

Really, you don't think they'd sell? I do! Why not try. You may be surprised! I'm guessing they'd sell for $40-$50.

So very nice. Price in a quilt shop for a kit to make a bag with some pockets was $65.00 US. I had to leave it in the store, but there are those who buy and make them. Patterns alone were $12+. Yours are every bit as nice. Love your colors and variety. Karen in OR
