This bobble is in the book but I added the finding at the top. It actually looks better in real life and the picots are all the same too. Not sure why it looks like it needs a haircut in this photo but tat's life!!! Having said that - my hair needs cutting too - I look like the 'wild woman of the west'!!!! I'll have to get the lawnmower out tomorrow and get Nick to cut it for me!!!!
Now during one conversation with Randy or Gary I was challenged to try something from their last book. I'll show you what happened another day.

Those bobbles are cute!
I don't know if you know, but your "padded double stitch" tutorial on freeservers is identical in structure to Ruth Perry's Balanced double stitch http://www.georgiaseitz.com/2008/ruthplongringchains.pdf. You both have "copyright" at the top of your pages, and I wasn't sure if that was the document copyright or the stitch copyright. I figure we have enough naming problems in tatting without having two names for this particular (and very useful) stitch. Thanks for all you do...love the tutorials!
Make it in yellow, with green beads, hold it upside down, and this one is a pineapple!!
Oh, Jane, make us a poodle ,please! That would be a cross between last week's mouse and today's gismo.,using a big bauble for the body and a small for the head.. and a tiny one on the tail. This thing has nice colors and super assorted beads.
Ah, Susie. Both Ruth and I must have been reading Rhoda Auld's book at the same time which is where the technique came from originally. I put a copyright notice on it for the drawings and text. Techniques don't 'belong' to people
That is very interesting!! :)
Unless, of course, you are Dora Young....
Heee, heee, Susie - you're right!!! Wonder what she'd make of Tat Land nowadays as we've moved on so fast?
I love the bobble. It looks like a pine cone to me!
Love the bobble. Wonder what would happen if you cut open the middle section's picots?
I like your new background. You inspired me to change mine, and winter is starting to leave. Your bobble looks like a colored pine cone.
Ooooh, Ladytats - just off to look at your blog!
This looks like a cross between a hermit crab and a hedgehog!
Ah, Crazy Mom Tats! then it looks a lot like what I see in the mirror!!!!!!
