Finally it's done and I'm already suffering from withdrawal symptoms!! You just can't win with BC3 so I give up!!!
I decided a week or two ago that I HAD to get it finished before my trip so that when I get back I've got a 'clear space' to work on a couple of new designs. I usually 'do' a Christmas one and then, of course, there's the Tat It And See design to sort too.
So I slogged on at the doily until I'd finished it. It wasn't a slog actually as right til the end I really enjoyed it. I've made notes on the whole doily and I'm happy to share. They won't make ANY sense unless you have the pattern itself with the diagrams (those may be found online somewhere) so I'm not breaking any copyright laws. Also remember that mine includes beads too but the picots can be re-added if required. The stitch count works and as I've only used the beads on picots I know that it will be fine for the original version. I learned a lot making this doily - a great experience.
For those just reading my blog for the first time this is Jan Stawasz's doily called Moje Robotki. Not sure if you'll be able to find a copy of the magazine it's published in but I may just sell my copy on eventually as I know I won't be making this one again!!! There used to be some for sale in Etsy but I can't find any now.

Do with it, Linda? Why do what I always do with my tatting!! It'll go in a box in the cupboard!!! Seriously not interested in the items once they're finished.

Stunning and so clever adding all those beads
This just takes my breath away! i can't help but gaze at it in all its glory! Jan's pattern is magnificent in a single color, but the soft colors you chose are spectacular! And you seemed to have no hesitation in choosing where to place them! I would still be dithering! The white and green final rounds set off the design perfectly, and the white tips on the 'peach' medallions add just the right touch.. I'm not sure you stated the exact colors used, but they are perfect!! I recall you used the term 'old lady' colors (LOL), but I would just call them timeless and elegant!
I can only imagine how the beads enhance it, and I astounds me how quickly you finished this - while being very busy doing other things, including preparing for an overseas trip where you will teach! I simply don't have your energy level!
Jan's design is brilliant, and even though it was published in a magazine, it might have remained hidden from view if it weren't for the 'campaign' by dedicated tatters to track down the magazine and obtain copies. The power of the internet!
It's a wonderful tribute to Jan and represents a superb challenge to tatters around the world! .
It's OK folks.... I'm going to drive down while BC3 is in Canada and get Sir in the house.... to 'steal' it out of the cupboard!!! Then I will put it on display at EVERY tatting show I go to!!!! LOL

That's magnificent! I like your beads instead of frilly picots - the clean lines of this doily are more clearly seen.
Zarina did sell all her copies of the pattern, but at this time she's accumulating orders to make another bulk purchase!

The pattern is in a Polish magazine which I bought from an Etsy seller. https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ZarinaCraft?ref=l2-shopheader-name Obviously I can't share the pattern itself with you but if you get a copy I am happy to send you my notes which may help you. It's written in Polish and done 'Jan's' way which I didn't do. I also added beads too but my notes do give a bit of help. Hope you manage to get a copy.
I also adore your job! Beautiful! As one of the challengers to that mega doily, can I ask a question about the pattern? I've got that pattern and it has something uncertain. (Quite many... :() Like the chain stitch of round vii and that of round viii. There is no marking... really frustrating... I almost finished round vii with the chain stitch, 5-5=9-9. Is it correct? But again I'm not sure round viii... Would you kindly let me know about those? It will save a lot of my tries in vain... Help!
