I'm afraid it's not a very good picture but it's a possum from the Houtz book.
I've never seen a live possum - only a dead one on a road when I was staying with Sandra in Atlanta. We don't get them here in the UK. I think they look kind of cute but I know Americans don't seem to like them!!!

I have not seen one since I hit one with the car Saturday. We don't like them because they look like huge rats, carry rabies, and they are vicious with needle sharp teeth. They also seem to be pretty stupid. They actually do "play opossum' though. Our dogs cornered one in the yard. It looked like they killed it. I got the dogs inside and the wife asked what to do about the opossum. I asked what opossum. She looked and it was gone.
Hello liccle Possum. Are you going to join the Great Window Stampede??? I think that's where Jane should put you... along with the meeces so that we can hear the 'squeals' from passers by all the way up here in Yorkshire!!
So, Tim, that actually makes them quite clever if they play dead when they're not!!!! I didn't know they carry rabies so not a creature you really want around at close quarters.
Yes, Pigmini, he'll probably join the others on the top of the telly - WHEN I find them all again!!! Gone missing somewhere in a safe place at the moment!!!
The brush tailed ones are very cute, but not the rat- tail version! They become tame if you feed them, my mother used to feed her two cats and the possum at the same time in her kitchen! But possums walking on your roof sound noisier than a herd of elephants.
Your tatted possum will be much quieter!
It does look like one, and yes, I don't like them, but yours looks great!! :)
They are useful in that they eat ticks. But they also hiss.
This is another link I was sent, Crazy Mom!!!! http://opossumsocietyus.org Very interesting on both links. Guess you like 'em or hate 'em!!!!
The babies are cute but very scary teeth when they open there mouths. they don't attach and really do play dead when threatened. You have captured him well and so real too! ;)
