Again I used size 20 thread but this time, to keep the chains more easily managed, I used a half double double stitch for them. Progress was made on sorting it out but I'm not happy at all as it's lost it's delicacy with these chains.
I also reckon it's not a size 20 project either and looked again at Louise's Juliana for which she used size 40. That's going to be my next attempt but without the half double double stitch.
I think a lot more thought is needed on those!!!

I can see that it doesn't look as floaty and delicate in this version, maybe the thinner thread will restore that. I find that the double double stitch produces quite rigid chains, so again, maybe to the right te unique here. Looking forward to version # 3!
Certainly a puzzle for BC3! Something like pearl tatting for the long chains? I know BC3 doesn't require advice, but there you go!
Size 40 would definitely be more delicate. I'm finding I enjoy size 40, but I have an awful lot of 20 to use up. Luckily, I have tons of glass gems to go along with the size 20! ;-)
It looks beautiful to me!! :)
I like it! Well, I agree about the chains not floating. mmmmmm perhaps no picots? Or lock chains? Or not tatted, but some other way to connect the top part to the bottom (central chains maybe are enough?)
Yes interesting delima or pickle you gotten yourself into to😃
