On second thoughts and after thinking hard (well for about ten seconds) about the rigmarolle of making New Years resolutions I decided that (as usual) I wouldn't bother. No point really as I never get past the first day!!
So instead I decided to turn over a new leaf. Here's one of them!!!!
DARN. Now I have more decisions - which one do I turn over and what WILL I find underneath!!
Happy New Year Jane.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually like leaves because, for me, they're not enough 'leaf like'. However, adding beads for the veins (instead of just long and sometimes twisted picots)does give them more substance.
The use of variegated thread works well so do tell us which thread you used for these.
Chuckle! Chuckle! Perhaps I should turn over a new leaf as well! Happy New Year, Jane!
ReplyDeleteWoweee and that's one of my favourite threads too.
ReplyDeleteFlora 20 varig.
The thread is Flora number 28 and is lovely to use!!!
ReplyDeleteI think your leaves are wonderful, turned or not
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year
Jane, I really enjoy reading your posts, your too cute.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
please, please, don't turn over a new leaf we love you just as you are, brain #3 would not recover
ReplyDeleteMaybe, just maybe, Brain Cell #4 is hiding under one of those leaves. That one hasn't been around for a while, has it? I suppose you could convince him to stay for a bit so #3 can take a well deserved vacation, because #3 did work pretty hard in '09, didn't it? Haha!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Jane!
LOL Jane, you are too funny!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you & Nick. Wishing you all the best in 2010.
Love the leaf, I like the shape, color and use of beads. Very Nice!!
((Hugs))
Happy New Year to you Jane, hope 2010 is a really good year for you.
ReplyDeleteI love your leaves, very life like and the beads give them real pazazz!!
Happy 2010! The leaves are very nice with the beads, & the variegated thread really gives them depth. I hope 2010 is as productive for you as 2009 was! I really appreciate all you did for the tatting community last year! Thanks for it all - the new patterns, the inspiration, the blogging, the giving, etc.
ReplyDeleteI just could not 'leaf' this alone. I DO like the leaves, I usually do sets to give body to veins...I like the idea of adding beads; adds ZIP!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and Nick Perhaps new tenants will be less stress than HM. Have a nice walk today and I'll be thinking of you.

Oh, Jane! I ♥ your pun here! It's awesome! So is the leaf, for that matter! I really like the beads very cool! Those are the kind of leaves I'd like to add to my tatted leaf collection! Just Awesome! Are you going to be sharing a pattern??? Or did I miss something...you should know by now from our recent emails I'm kinda groggy lately! LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh, and Happy New Year, too! Thanks for the friendship over the past year or so and may 2010 bring us even more lovely tatting friendship moments! (((Hugs)))!
Happy New Year Jane!
ReplyDeleteI am a leaf lover. I take pictures of leaves all the time, on the tree or on the ground - just LOVE them. Your leaves are SO pretty! Their shape and color is natural and beautiful. The beads are wonderful and add so much. I say turn them ALL over - tatted leaves that pretty must be hiding little tatting fairies!
:) Ann
Your beaded leaves are beautiful! Me, I think I'll leaf it alone, for the moment!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Jane!
