Isn't this just SO pretty? Joelle kindly sent me this Aero shuttle which she's 'decoupaged'.
I'd never use it for fear of rubbing off the beautiful pattern.
Do you know the pattern even goes over the end of the shuttle and right up to the hook. It's even overlapped to the inside. What a lot of work and skill.
Thanks, Joelle. It's going to be a very much loved member of my shuttle collection.
What a lovely shuttle, but you must use it or it may not feel wanted. L.O.L.
ReplyDeleteThis is really lovely! I am sure you can use
ReplyDeleteit, decoupage should be varnished...
Oh yes, do use it! It has about 8 coats of sealant to make it smooth. So I'm sure it will withstand a fair amount of tatting!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty. I would worry about using it too.
ReplyDeletelucky lucky girl, jane!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jane, you'd best use it or you're going to hurt Joelle's feelings! It's very nice!
ReplyDeleteOh cute! I bet it's fun to work with too, you should use it.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE your decoupaged shuttle!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell if it is done with fabric or paper?
Joelle did magnificent work on it, it is so smooth and seamless. With 8 coats of sealant it should be both lovely and long-lasting, too.
Do use it. And could we see a project-in-progress snapshot?
THAT is SO beautiful! Does Joelle sell these? If not, she should!
ReplyDeletethis is really lovely. I haven't done any decoupage for years, although I used to teach it at workshops. Now that I'm an apprentice tatter lol I must combine the 2 crafts. I have tried painting Clover shuttles using a multi purpose sealer & acrylic paints but I wasn't happy with the result. Thanks for all your sharing Jane
ReplyDeleteEven 10 years later Joelles shuttles still top everybody elses! I just bought 1, and my cousin bought me one for hitting 10 thousand followers! Im so excited for mine. Im quite jelous she sent you one! Lol. How have you been doing lately?
