Some people asked what was the use of the button flower!! Well, they actually didn't put it like that - just a general question!!!! Like - what would you use it for!!!!
So I had to call on that dear old brain cell for an idea or two.
Here's what he came up with as the only other thing I could think of was for a brooch/pin.
This is by far the best bracelet that I have seen! I love it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. I generally do not favor the threads that change colors but this was a perfect application.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I will do this!!!

That is awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are very pretty all in a row like that; it makes a lovely bracelet. However, here we are back at the question "What is tatting for?" Since most of us seem to agree that tatting mainly exists just for beauty and doesn't have to be "for" anything, why not just scatter them randomly on shelves and tables? Or they could be arranged on a small mirror to look like they are floating in water.
ReplyDeleteAh, Miranda, I know what tatting's for. I've known for over 50 years but it's only now I'm going to reveal the answer. It's to keep ME out of mischief!!!!! There you go - now you know!!! Seriously (for once!) I wear mine in all sorts of ways - as earrings, brooches, necklaces, as edgings for shirts, as decorations for jackets, added to handbags and generally to give to people to cheer them up. I've not run out of ideas yet!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the colours!
ReplyDeleteI really love it! It's beautiful!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I want that! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe a tatter had to ask for ideas for this pattern!!! I could also see it done in very small button size 80 thread as earrings. Than make matching medallion or choker in larger thread. How about the flower motif for a doily? Attach to wire, tat a few leaves add floral tape and you have a 3-D flower! I love the bracelet! You will share how you did it right?!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love the bracelet and the flowers as well!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's is absolutely gorgeous. You are so talented! What is the thread that you used?
ReplyDeleteHi bhappe - the thread is a Lizbeth variegated on the outside and the inner round is a plain Coats from WAAAY back!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently trying it out as an earring as TAT19540 suggested and have found it works well 'as is' with a long beaded picot at the bottom and ....... well, I'll show you all when I've got a 'proper' pair made!!!!
I'm think that I'm going to have to try this! Thanks so much for sharing. I wonder what it would look like all in one color.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty rocking bracelet.
