Changes have occurred

I forced myself to do something I've been 'meaning to do' (how many times do I 'mean to do' something and fail!!) for ages yesterday.  I've changed my pattern pages slightly!!!

I got thoroughly fed up with having to scroll so far down the home page to find things that I want so I've decided to tidy it up slightly!!  No, it hasn't gone 'posh' cause I don't know how to do that!!!

Can you see that I've now put the 'tips and techniques' and 'animal' sections on new links (see below)?  If this works then I'll put a few of the other larger sections on other links too.  The whole front page thoroughly got on my nerves - yes, I do have some still!!!

Do please let me know if you have any other ideas - as long as they're not too hard as I'm self taught and not willing to waste valuable tatting time learning new web page designing skills!!!  Brain cell 3 would probably have a seizure if I even tried.

  5. There is one thing I don't like, and I don't know if you have any control over it. Every time I make a comment I have to fill out a word thingy. As if that will stop bad folks from hacking if they want. Sheesh

  6. Yes, "word verification" that's the word I'm looking for. Sheesh. What a pain that is.

I like it. I like it. Yesterday I used the Blipless join instructions. I just revisited them to compare. Is easier and quicker to get there today and my joins look much better. Thank you for clear instructions. Now I want to know how to join a chain to a ring above it without the blip. Karen in OR

  8. Ah, Madtatter, there's only word verification here on the blog - not on the web site. I've tried taking it off before but then started getting spam!! A nuisance at times, I agree.

    for
@Anonymous Karen in OR. there is a way to join without the color blip. I haven't used Jane's method yet, but I have used the method that Bina Madden has on her website it is called a Lark's head picot join http://web.archive.org/web/20080102105603/http://www.loopylacer.com/free_stuff/tips/LHPJ/ hope this helps.

  10. comment for Jane, need not be posted.....
as for MadTatter's issues with the word verification, I did remove it from my blog comment form, but left moderation in place. with Blogger's new spam comment sorting, I have not had any problems with spam cluttering up my comment moderation page. I just visit the spam page every couple of weeks and delete them all.

  11. Things look great so far! I'm the wrong person to ask about 'improvements' because I'm still trying to figure out blogging basics.

And I certainly don't mind the word verification. It was frustrating when the comments didn't go through at all! That problem seems to be fixed now, fortunately!

  12. OK I'll quit fussing. We don't want spam that's for sure. I have to laugh, because the word usually jumps around a few times before I can catch up with it. That's funny.
