This first part isn't about tatting but I thought you'd like to hear about this small adventure.
On a Monday my friend comes round to my place and we go down the town and round the shops - mainly the charity shops!!!! I do a 'bead hunt' of the jewellery in the charity shops - more about that in another post.
Well the Monday before last I asked her if she'd seen inside the newly re-vamped theatre and she hadn't. I just LOVE our new/old theatre so suggested we go there for our usual 'cuppa' after the shopping.
After the cuppa I took Ros around the inside and I found an 'open door' which took us into the auditorium. Nobody was around so we snook in!! We were up in the circle area and it was DARK as there was a rehearsal going on. We watched the rehearsal for ages - keeping very quiet!! Now I'm talking REAL famous actors and actresses in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Are you impressed? I love that new old theatre.

Well, here's number 5 of the wee motifs and things are going really well. Will I finish it? I think so now I've got this far!!!
I heard that your theatre is preparing earnestly for when the Olympics is on. Lucky you to get a preview!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to get a preview, will you go and see the production when it is on.
ReplyDeleteLovely motifs, great colours
Margaret
Very much doubt it, Margaret. You can't easily tat in the dark!!! Prices for seats are SO expensive but if I get offered a freebie I'll go. Often there's a 'bums on seats' night when (if you know somebody who works in the theatre) you get offered freebies. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteSneaking around a theater seems like so much fun! I once snuck into the gymnasium in college and listened to The Carpenters practicing. When Karen Carpenter saw me, she sent security to shoo me away. I think that's the most daring thing I've ever done in my life! If I ever get to England, I'd love to go sneaking around with you! ; )
ReplyDeleteI love looking at all your HWT pieces! I will try it sometime. I have some lovely threads sitting on my table crying out, "Blend me! Blend me!"
Sneaky sneaky you!! I love going to the theater but no know in this house is interested. I wonder what size this piece of tatting will be once done!?!
ReplyDeleteKelly
I love how great those colors look!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou mean you won't tell us who those actors were????
ReplyDeleteNo, LadyShuttleMaker - simply because I don't know!!!!! We have lots of actors in town all the time and you get to never recognise them unless they're people who have become friends!!! Strange place as you see people who you think are friends, start chatting to them as if they were and then realise they're actually very famous!!! I SO embarrassed myself by doing this some years ago whilst out dog walking!!!!! I've not recovered yet!!! It was Susanna York and she thought it was hilarious when the 'penny dropped' and I realised she wasn't 'just a mate from down the pub'!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable. Keep up the snooking.
ReplyDeleteJust think Janey, O Janey...if I knew you back when I was in your neck of the woods we could have had a drinky poo...but I didn't have a computer back then so I didn't know there were other tatters out there. Anyhow...what threads are you using in your tatting adventure?
ReplyDeleteThis time I used one variegated size 70 or 80 thread with a plain sewing one - I think, Sherry!!!!
