Blogging

When I first started this blog back in 2006 I only did it to keep myself amused and so that I had 'something to do'!!!!!
Looking back it's proved a real treasure as it's kept me organised and inspired.  Organised because it makes me finish off things I start!!!  Inspired - that's happening through comments and followers.

I've never worked out how people stumble over my blog posts or how they then access them.  Maybe they 'follow' me or just bookmark the url and go from there.  There may be other ways too.

I use the google reader to look at the posts that I follow when I'm on the iPad but when on the main computer I go through the dashboard.  Sometimes I pick up new people to follow through google search.  Anyway, what I really want to say is 'hi' to my 400 followers and thank you for being there and keeping me on track.

I know it says 401 but I know that one of them is dear Gina who is no longer able to read my ramblings.  Gosh, I SOOO miss her and hardly a day goes by without I don't think of her.  In fact yesterday I went to look round her blog once more - just because I thankfully still can.

  1. Hi Jane, You found me so I don't know how you did that on my first tatting post.
It is a shame about Gina she always wrote some wonderful pieces about tatting and although I never meet her or did not follower her for long she was full of inspiration I miss her too.

  3. I'm glad you think of your blog as a treasure because this reader certainly does! You've inspired , made me laugh and reminded me to be happy and grateful for this wonderful life. Thank you!
Although Gina is gone now, I, too, like having her in my followers. It's a nice reminder of a really wonderful person.

  5. Judith Smith directed me to your blog several years ago, and I've been an avid reader of it ever since. Then I decided that reading other people's blogs wasn't enough, I had better contribute myself. I really appreciate the help you gave me in getting going, thanks.

  6. Thanks Jane, I too am pleased to follow you. Once I found you, and I don't remember how, but it might have been through Here-Be-Tatters yahoo group, I have made sure that I had you bookmarked in my browser, then when I started my blog, I put you in my favorite blogs list. so you pop up every day. Thank you for all your techniques, your wonderful graphic drawings and every bit of tatting information that you have taught us.

Thanks for being my friend, even if we haven't met in person.

    I too miss Gina.

  7. Thank you friends - I'm blushing here. I didn't mean this post to be to 'gather compliments' but more of a talking out loud about the way things work around blogging. It still intrigues me no end.
