Here is the link for DAY 14 of the Tat It And See.
Please take a moment today to remember a dear lady who used to test tat the TIAS's for me but who so very sadly died two years ago today. Who? Gina Brummett the original Tatting Goddess.
If you have time do take a look at her blog as she was an inspired tatter and such a dear friend. Her battle with cancer was going well but sadly her body gave up on February 13th two years ago. Miss her dreadfully - specially the winter she went through before her death. Such a brave lady.
It doesn't seem possible that it's been two years since Gina's death. I'm so glad I had the chance to spend a couple of days with her when she visited Brisbane - we had fun!
ReplyDeleteI miss her so much. I was luck enough to have spent some time with her at a Fringe tatting weekend. What a great lady!!

I miss her too. She's the one who introduced me to the Lafayette Lacemakers and encouraged me to join.
ReplyDeleteI still remember the shock we felt when we learned of Gina's passing. And amazingly, it was the ninth anniversary of her blog - she was one of the pioneers! I still visit her blogroll every day and have often taken time to read some of her posts. There is a wealth of information there including many tutorials and patterns, plus another blog roll list of all kinds of other crafts. She had extraordinary needlework skills and a wonderful personality. I felt as though I knew her personally, even though we never met.
ReplyDeleteSo heartwarming to hear all of your loving comments about my mother. I have done a little research about how to gain access/ownership of her blog but have not yet acted on it. I have all of her patterns and stuff in storage at the moment in hopes of having a larger home where I can get it organized an hopefully republish to her blog. Thank you Jane always keeping her in your heart.
