Another two hummingbirds which I made for a very good reason. I'll show you the 'reason' another day.
Meanwhile I've added the pattern to the site and you can find it here. Why is it called 'Joanie's Hummingbird'? Well it's named after Joanie who has hosted me on so many occasions when I've been in America. There's more to come about our friendship in another post.
Due to judicious 'nagging' (not really - it was more of a suggestion) from Sally I am now working on converting this into an angel. She's 'into' angels and I'm not!!! Never dawned on me that this could be one but it will be shortly!!!
I'm so glad that Sally can see the angel too! - a heart, she needs a heart in her middle. That would be absolutely perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pattern Jane it is an awesome hummingbird and I can see what Sally see's. It will be a pretty angel too!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting the pattern. I can see it being an angel.
ReplyDeleteLove the hummingbird! Will the angel have arms?
ReplyDeleteThe arms will be part of the wings - sort of!!!! Difficult to fit arms into the space available and keep the upward 'swirl' of the wings. It will have a halo though.
ReplyDeleteI love Maureen's suggestion of a heart in the middle! I saw it's potential at being an angel too. Arms and a halo, you've got a challenge Jane.
ReplyDeleteThat is because I am an angel!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your hummers, Jane! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI see exactly why Sally see the Angel in it - the hummy looks great!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a bit larger head. Arms aren't really necessary. But a halo would be good.
ReplyDeleteThe thread is gorgeous! As well as the bird pattern. Thanks for your generosity sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteWow ! these birds are just perfect! I love the result on the tail.
ReplyDeleteAdorable hummingbirds ! My favourite is the one on top :-) Thanks for sharing the pattern, Jane.
ReplyDeleteThe angel absolutely pops out from within the bird ! I agree with the halo & Maureen's suggestion of a heart.
By adding just 1 or 2 more 'feathers' to the tail, will make it look like the swirling gown of a dancing girl !!! Tweaking for the next project - a dancing girl or a waltzer ? ;-))
Those are beautiful!! And I can see an angel in there somewhere!! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to read i am not the only one that see an angle!
ReplyDeleteSorry Jane, but it is a cute hummingbird also.
