This was given to me by a friend who works part time in a charity shop. Now the charity shop couldn't sell it on for some strange reason. There were quite a few pieces of leather/suede but I chose this one - purely for the colour!!! Well, you know me and colour!!!
I'm not sure this is 'real' suede but it feels lovely and I've never been the type of person who actually cares. Now, what shall I do with it?!?!?!? Watch this space. NO, not the one between my two ears - that's where BC3 lives when he's at home!!!
Lovely colour! Will there be a matching tatting thread involved?
ReplyDeleteOoooh, craftie sylvie - that's too much forward planning for me!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks splendid. I look forward to seeing what BC3 comes up with.
ReplyDeleteA tote bag, of course! For your trip to Canada. With tatting, so you had better get on with it. Don't let sue Hanson see it, she likes purple too, I believe.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I'd have been drawn to that color also! I've never sewn any kind of suede, so I'll be very interested to see what becomes of this.
ReplyDeleteTat's a good idea, Maureen!!!!! You may well have caught me out!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely volor. I can hardly wait to see what you come up with. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the color, and I agree with Maureen. It would make a great tote bag for embellishing with tatting.
ReplyDeleteFabulous color!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMaureen, you are soo right :-) I am a purple person LOL
ReplyDeleteWonderful fabric. Lots of possibilities! Those little tatting bags would be cute, too. I believe the fabric would resist piercing of hooks and scissors? And no fraying of the edges. Easy color to spot inside a matching tote bag if lined with a print fabric! Note how I'm giving you a lot of work to do! Oh, yes - embellishment with tatting and beads, of course!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful color! Definitely add tatting to whatever it is (is the piece large enough to make a tote bag?) - something in a coordinating, but bright color, for sure. I can just imagine all the fun you'll have with this - beads, tatting, all the fun 'embellishments' to go with the fabric/suede.
ReplyDeleteYou sure are keeping BC3 busy this summer. I don't sew so I am looking forward to what this becomes.
