Do you remember my 'big' project with the diamond motifs? Well if not then here's a reminder of where I'd got to when I last blogged about it.
As you can tell from that post I was dithering about whether to continue or not but in the end the temptation of the threads and the possibilities got the better of me and off I went on another round. It's taken me roughly three months to get this next round on as I only work on it when I'm 'out and about' and not having to concentrate on what I'm doing. As you can imagine - I know this pattern off by heart by now!!!!
For this round I decided to use the same colours all the way round. I've used a variegated and plain together for both the inner part and the outer and they're all different.
Again I'm now wondering if this is the end of the 'tale' or whether I may 'fill in' the outside to make it straighter or not. Time to sit and think and try out ideas for a while.
Meantime (as you know) I am always up to other things too so that BC3 doesn't get bored!!!!
Goodness gracious Jane! Your output is amazing. And this piece is so pretty when you enlarge the photo!
ReplyDeleteWow, looking fantastic. Great way to play with threads.
ReplyDeleteOh wow!!! That is fantastic!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this is a 'take-along' project that you don't have to concentrate on! I hope others enlarge this photo to see how truly magnificent it is! The colors of each 'star' are gorgeous, and it is simply spectacular how you have blended the colors together. It seems quite complete to me! It would exhaust me to get this far!
ReplyDeleteIt is looking nice. I think it might work if you filled out the edges to make it into a diamond. But it is really your choice.
ReplyDeleteI see we're all in your spam box again!!
ReplyDeleteWell this means you did not give up what are the measurements of this now? it is gorgeous work!
ReplyDeleteJust checking to see if your comments are coming through! I thought I did comment on your beautiful 'stars' mat, indicating that I hoped others enlarge the photo to appreciate all the beautiful colors! I'm amazed that you don't have to concentrate on it!
ReplyDeleteI like the geometry of this piece. That the colored stars form a larger star, that is the same six pointed star as the smaller ones. Plus the entire piece is six sided as well. Math can be so amazing sometimes! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody - I've only just found these comments on my dashboard. Something must've changed with blogger and when I'm feeling better I'll sort it out.
