I’ve been round the Wrekin!!!

Bet you’re wondering what that means!!!  Well it’s a saying here in the UK and this is a link to an interesting story.   If you say to somebody ‘I went round the Wrekin to get here’ it means you took the long way round!!  I always think a heel is a long way round and feel I’ve been all the way round the Wrekin to get to the straight ‘bit’.  Lesson of the day finished!!!

Learned something this morning and thoroughly enjoyed the stories about the Wrekin. You are making great progress on your sock.

  3. I have to learn to knit socks. I keep wearing out the store-bought ones.

  4. StephanieW - it’s my mission to teach you Americans some really useless information from the UK!!!! Actually when I do a boring post I like to add an interesting link!!!
Tim - socks are great especially doing them toe up. There are also ways of adding in a heel so that if it wears out you can pick up stitches and knit a new one. I’ve not got to that - yet!!!
