Pink and Blue

Thank you to all those who told me my banner is oversized on the top of the blog!!!  I'm going to work on it today but that's a bit difficult when it looks fine to me on three browsers and two computers!!!  Tell you what, I'll dig out and polish off brain cell number 3 and get him to give me a hand!!!!

Now for two using pink and blue.

Another and new breed of poinsettia, do you think?!?!?

  1. It starts out huge when it first pops up but then settles into normal display for me. So well behaved. (smile) I use IE. It's probably a compatibility thing with browsers and OS's.

I like the pink and blue. Very Nice. Were they done with two different size threads? Just wondering.

  3. Hi Rayanna. No, they're both number 20. I think they were both old Coats threads too.

  4. I use Firefox, and your banner looked okay to me. Of course, Firefox shrinks the whole thing so the banner and everything else fits, but it's about 8 point type. That's okay though, I can still read it.

As for the pink and blue -- wonderful! I can see these sewn to the front of a baby onsie for a present (as I don't personally need any baby onsies, thank goodness).

  5. I haven't graduated to using beads yet, but soon hopefully. I've read of a few methods for adding beads and was wondering which you used for this piece.

As for the banner... If you don't want to change the image itself you could set the display size with CSS or maybe just set it in the image tag.

  6. Pink isn't normally my favorite color, but I have to say that this motif is really lovely!

  7. Banner size looks fine to me. Of course I have a 21 inch wide screen flat monitor. And of course it is a Macintosh!!! I have plenty of viewing room even with side bars I use in Firefox. I have viewed it in Opera and Safari as well. Fine! My monitor at home is a 17 inch old clunker. So it may appear a bit off screen. But that doesn't bother me. You know me an my graphics....I like them BIG! LOL!

    XOXO SOJ

    Hi Jane:
I'm so sad, you get Tatman responding to you. I only say that cuz, I have had his Turkey design on my blog that I tatted and I guess he has not seen it yet. :( Patience I suppose I need.

I asked about the size of thread cuz I noticed the center was a slight bigger.

  9. Oooooh, M, you've got a treat waiting for you if you've not started with beads yet. For this piece I just added the beads to the shuttle threads and then move them into place as needed in the pattern. If you look on my pattern page (under tips and techniques at the bottom) you'll find all sorts of ways of adding beads to tatting. Of course you can always email me for further help - you'd be very welcome in my inbox. love to tat@gmail.com

  10. Hi Rayanna. I'm sure Tatman will spot your post one day. He's a VERY busy man. I think the centre looking bigger is an optical illusion!!!

Thank you Jane. Tatman found me. Angels are always watching me. Tatman gave me thumbs up on the Turkey. I emailed him and told him about the edging I did for my daughter April. I turned it into a choker for her for next halloween.
