Another 'before I start rambling' note. Yesterday we reached 99 prams - wonder who will become the magic 100th?
Finally here's another pattern completed.
Finally here's another pattern completed.
This is an update of a pattern I did round about 2000 for a magazine here in the UK. After a few years I took the doodad out and replaced it with a cabone/curtain ring and the pattern is still lurking on my site here.
A while back I wanted to make a newer version along the same lines so that's now done and dusted too. Here's the link for the new one.
A few weeks ago my friend and I went shopping and found a large package of the rings on sale. So we split the lot! Since I am a day late on tatting up the tatting trail (LOL) this post is right up my alley. Then we also joined forces and order lots of pretty beads! Look out...here I come tatting world. With rings and beads, I am on a roll! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane. It's great!

Those are totally awesome!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, It is beautiful. But, did I miss something? What size thread do I use to make it fit a 3" ring?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Oh, heck, did I forget to put the thread size on? I'll do it tomorrow. In the meantime it's a size 20 - my all time favourite!!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery striking colors and great design! You are so generous to share all these patterns! I also love size 20 thread. We have so many color choices now and it's great for jewelry and snowflakes.
ReplyDeleteA couple of words stood out to me: 'magazine' and 'doodad'. Did the magazine do an interview also, in addition to printing your pattern? And apparently you were using doodads back in 2000!
I've now amended this file to give thread size and the size of the large bead too. http://www.janeeborall.freeservers.com/Snow2in2013.pdf
ReplyDeleteKathy - I'm going to take a trip into the loft this morning to find the magazines with the originals in. Wish me luck up there with the big spiders!!!!
