Finished

Well I really got on well with this piece of fabric. I was just in the right mood to get it done. Also as it's my sixth (and FINAL) top I'm putting the sewing machine away for now. Well, that's my intent.

Problem is - I'm off to Birmingham again on Monday and we're taking another neighbour to introduce her to the delights of the fabric stores. IF I was a betting woman I'd take bets on whether I come home with more fabric or not. BUT I'm not so it'll be down to my strong will to avoid any more purchases!!!!  Don't hold your breath!!!

Here's the finished top.

  1. You really have been on a roll with the sewing! I'm very impressed with the buttonholes, mine never used to turn out well so I had to make them all by hand.
Good luck with your resolve to keep strong in the face of temptation! But enjoy your purchases when you toss out the good intentions.

  2. Must confess - I cheated, Maureen. No buttonholes!!! Buttons on the top but press studs underneath!!!! Works for me and much less hassle than buttonholes!!!

  3. T'at sounds like me with threads!!! Hwt, different colours... and I always have to buy 2 that compliment or contrast each other...

I think BC3 will have a field day!!!

  5. Love your new top, the fabric is really lovely :)
When you gave me the reference I favourited the link to the pattern. I finally bought it a few days ago and have already received it. I'll put it to use asap :) I don't really mind buttonholes (totally unable to do them by hand though!!!) but as I want to make more than one top I'll diversify a bit; probably one with buttons, one with snaps (maybe plastic ones, they come in many colours so it's easy to find some that match the fabric), and one with... nothing. That's the plan for now anyway.

  6. Another lovely top! I found a pattern I think I might like. All I have to do now is make some time for sewing!

Oooh, I like this top the best of all (so far)! Lovely color and it's just gorgeous made into a top. Don't worry about giving in to temptation in a fabric store - it won't spoil if it has to wait a bit to be made into a top. Those tops look so lovely and so comfortable I'd want to have a different one for every day ….for at least 2 weeks. They'll last.... :)
