An experiment in block tatting!

So, here we go on my block tatting adventure!!!  Day one saw me starting with a motif I'd done years ago called the 'small motif'.  Some people (like MEEEE) have no imagination over naming designs!!!

As you can see something wasn't right about this attempt so it stopped where you can see!!!  Another lot of thread destined for the bin!!!

I use yards and yards of thread when designing and that's why I keep a look out on Ebay for threads just for that purpose.  I won't use my lovely Lizbeth or other 'good' sorts for designing.

It looks good to me - hope you can finish designing it to your satisfaction!

I wish I had the patience and the imagination to design. Maybe I do, and I just don't realize it, but for now, I'm content to follow the designs of others. It looks like this will be one beautiful pattern when it's finished!

what if you long chain to point of each start point..do your ring and as you block tat back to base...join your block tat chains to previous long chain to point and ring graduating the chains as you get to base of point. don't know if that makes since or not?

I wish I had the imagination to design something too.

I was doodling last year, and made what I thought was an interesting motif, then found it was identical to the centre of a snowflake pattern I'd printed out ages ago. Which I don't think I ever made, because I don't even remember printing it!

Of course, the way my memory is these days... :)

Aha, linb54 - you'll have to wait and see what happened next!!! The pattern is actually complete and ready go 'go' but I thought people would like to see how BC3 works (or not!!). Sounds good what you're suggesting so that may develop into another design - eventually!!!
