Tree hugging

This takes the concept of hugging trees to a new level.  A tree hugging another tree.

I've never seen anything like it!

Not hugging it - probably a strangler vine. They are parasites which latch onto established trees in the rainforests and if left for long enough, eventually the tree inside the strangler vine will die.Or maybe they're called strangler figs.

We have strangler figs here too, that eventually swallow up the original tree. Interesting!
