In my quest to find ideas for teaching I've been looking once again at this Catherine Wheel Motif pattern. I showed you the original test one I worked last week on Friday.
This is a new version of the same idea. Now I prefer this one as it doesn't have two rounds!!! I know - I'm lazy!!!
All I need to do now is to re-write the pattern and do the new drawings. As the centre is roughly the same then it shouldn't be too big a project.
BUT - this is a BIG BUT - BC3 now wants to know what would happen if I joined these together!! I guess that means I'm heading out on another adventure!!! I'll be back!!!

This looks interesting- block tatting?
What should I have done to my spiders, to keep them in shape? I was afraid to stiffen them because they were black, and beaded, but clearly it was necessary as they didn't survive the day. I wonder whether polyester thread might have been better than cotton. I didn't enjoy tatting with wire on the one and only occasion that I tried that.
Lazy block tatting, Maureen!!! I used Lizbeth cotton thread and stiffened with ordinary white PVA. No problems at all and I wore them all week!!!! Be brave, lass. Be brave!!!
This is lovely, but I still love your previous and hope you won't overwrite the previous pdf... your patterns are beautiful in all versions!
Hmmm... lots of negative space methinks... but it could be verrrry interesting!! But I can see differences in the pattern from the original!!
Looks great!! :)
Thanks Ninetta. No this will be a separate pattern one day! I’ll be using it for teaching purposes first I hope!
Well spotted Pigmini!
I love the swirly look, and I do want to know what it looks like joined!
