I'm not sure if this is going to be 'it' but I'm going to start another Dora Young motif and see how I get on with talking (too much) and tatting!!!
This is the motif on page 19 of her book and is really easy to do once you've 'trained your brain'. It's just the joining of the motifs that I have to 'look up' again and get into my poor old head!!!

Such a wonderful sense of movement.
It looks a little complicated to be a take- along tat! I never seem to be able to achieve much in the way of tatting when I am at QT meetings. I can chat or I can tat, but not both at once!
I can tat or I can talk. If I talk, I usually get no tatting done. You must be good at multi-tasking.

I'm a fan of Dora Young's work too. Her research provided us with techniques for bridging, the split chain, a mock split ring and the (now called) Catherine wheel join. A very talented lady.
