Well I really ought to get a life but I really enjoy making these little snowflakes as giveaways. Also I've got a LOT of bugle beads and these rice beads which have been staring at me whenever I take a dive into my tatting cupboard!!!!
They're really quick to make and I can (if I don't get sidetracked) make two in an evening. The pot of Christmas giveaways is filling up!!!

Those are really lovely! I like the little beady triangle in the spaces.
Fabulous snowflakes!! :)
Beautiful!!!! ❤️
LOVE your colour choices for these! What fun. I think I must make some. Plus the alliteration in their name is just GREAT!
To do the center with the long beads... do you put all the beads on the picot and hold them with paperclips so you can join as you tat? Or do you measure out the picot (long) and add a bead before you do each join? Fiddly? or not so much?
Thanks everybody.
Lauren - I saw somebody did it by measuring a first long picot but thought that was too ‘iffy’ as tensions and gauges don’t always come up the same each time. So I invented a way of doing it by adding the beads to the element and this can be done with either a chain or the second side of a split ring. Here’s the actual technique http://janeeborall.freeservers.com/BeadFaceOutwards.pdf Here’s the link to the pattern where the technique is covered too. http://janeeborall.freeservers.com/SnowflakeScintillating2022.pdf This is a technique so I’ve not copyrighted it although my BC3 came up with it!!!!
