Martha's book and a RESULT on the blog!

Huge celebrations yesterday afternoon.  I couldn't find how to take off the word verification - drove me bonkers!!!  My good mate Gina kept making fantastic suggestions and telling me places to go on my dashboard but the 'word verification' just wasn't there!!  In the end I ploughed through the forums and found the answer.  I had to go back to the old blogger interface.  Again I was stumped because there was no link on my new interface to take me back there!  In the end I found a message on the forums which said this:-

I've been able to track down most things that seem to have moved on the new dashboard but I can't find this one. You may have to go to the old dashboard to do it. You can do that by logging in to www.blogger.com/home instead of www.draft.blogger.com/home . If it won't open the old dashboard for you, then you may have to clear your cache.

So, what I did was sign out, paste the url into the browser bar and then sign in.  First thing I got greeted with was my old interface - the rest was history!!!!!  Oh, I also found out later in the day that I could easily manage my 'following' list here too - can't do that in the new interface - yet!!

This is one of the motifs from Martha's new book.  I added beads 'here and there' for a bit of sparkle.  Can I just mention here that I really love the designs in this book.  The broomstick picots are SUCH fun to make.

Good sleuth work! I have to admit that every time I've tried Blogger's upgrade, I end up backing out of it because it does not make anything convenient for me. I'm a pretty simple blogger and don't need all the bells and whistles they keep coming up with.

I love Martha's new book too!

Somehow, I managed to get back to the old interface, and I'm staying there for a while! Love the motif!

Your broomstick lace snowflake looks terrific! The beads are so clear they almost look like water droplets.

What thread did you use to make the snowflake?

I must confess that I like the old blogger interface better too.

It's an HDT that Sue Anna gave me - size 20, Isdihara. That book is fantastic and I can't wait to have a go at something else!!

Glad you finally found what you needed Jane.
did you stay with the old interface or go back to the new?
I really like your snowflake, very pretty, I have Martha's book, but other then the test tats I did for her, haven't had the time to sit down and play.
on to Christmas Presents.

Jane, your snowflake turned out beautiful. Are all of the patterns in Martha's new book done using the broomstick design?

Hi Ladytats. I went back to the new interface afterwards but have kept the instructions for making the return again to 'fix' things. Still it kept the aged brain busy!!!!

No, tatting-marie they're not all broomstick designs. Martha's played with picots in all sorts of ways including the Mrs Mee picot which I'm going to tackle next. As usual the book is beautifully laid out and easy to read and understand.

Took me awhile to find the beads. But they do add sparkle. Very nice.

This motif is gorgeous in these colors, and the broomstick picots are FABULOUS! Have these picots been around but rarely utilized? Martha is an exceptional designer! I've got a couple of books on my Christmas list!

Usually forums make my head spin because I don't understand the geek-talk, but every now and then someone comes up with a simple answer that I'm grateful for. So glad you figured it out! If Gina thinks she's a 'simple blogger', I don't know WHAT that makes me!! I don't even have a blog roll! Talk about bells and whistles!!
