First bangle done and dusted.

This is the first one finished.  Well it was finished a couple of weeks ago.

OK, I'll admit to it being a little fiddly but not as bad as I thought it would be.  I worked the outer parts attaching to the rims first and then the split rings last joining to both the sides as I went along - they were a bit fiddly.

I deliberately kept it simple (rings, chains and split rings) as I felt it didn't need really fancy stuff particularly with the joining being a bit 'problematic'!!

I'm SOOO pleased with it I'm going to make another but with more 'bling'.  Oh, these are both Lizbeth colours but I'm not sure which.  As usual I'm hopeless at remembering which I've used.  My mid year new year's resolution will be to note down what I've used!!!!

A very clever creation and beautiful, too.

Brilliant! You've certainly proved it CAN be tatted on, and look at those beads, too! The color possibilities boggle the mind! As usual, you're blazing the trail!

I continue to be amazed at what a shuttle, needle and thread and an idea can do. Wonderful job!

The multicolored Lizbeth is WILDFLOWER GARDEN-154 (which is one of my favorites, which is why I recognize it). Do the "color blips" bother you? I make myself do FS/BS tatting with larks head joins because I just can't stand for the front not to look "perfect." I also make myself do the LH join on the second half of a split ring...it is much slower, but it looks almost like a regular ds, and no blips.

Thanks, Susie for the 'naming' of the vari thread!!!
Colour blips? No not really. Certainly not on vari threads. I actually mainly tat FS/BS because it photographs and scans better. I wouldn't bother on doilies or mobiles as if put down the 'wrong way up' they look worse if made that way!! I'm not a perfectionist by any means and solely tat for pleasure.

It is fabbo, Jane! Wonderful idea.

Did you consider covering the bracelet first like the carbone rings? would that be too fiddly? I think it would look awesome with the metal covered - but what do I know!!!

It is definitely true that the back side looks worse if things are tatted with a definite front side. For white or single colors, I don't see that it makes a huge difference. Is it possible that the central row of split rings could be done first, then joined to the two sides? Joining from regular tatting TO split rings is much easier than second side joining OF a split ring as far as I've seen.

wonderful Jane. very nice.
how do you take your pictures, they are always so easy to see the details. no shadows on things like this.

Ladytats - I'm strictly a point, guess and press photographer. I usually use one of those light studio thingies but mine hasn't got lights. A small camera, an itouch or an ipad - whatever's closest at hand!!!
