NEW Star and more snowflake talk

Yesterday I finished another star (below at the top) which now has beads in the centre too.    Here's the link to the new one.  I'll be updating the main motif page when I get the Snowflower Snowflake done.

The lovely thread on the snowflake at the bottom is one given to me by Phyllis Schmidt and is called 'Daybreak'.  This was another gift from Tat Days. I was SOOOO spoilt this year.

I've outlined it with a plain colour on the second round - with the inevitable beads too!!! Thank you, Phyllis.

I'm working HARD on finishing the pattern but I've had a glitch or two.

I've been working with Libre Office (free software) for years and just lately it's refused to work on the iMac (works just fine on the laptop!) so I've started using Pages.  I'm not a happy bunny but I will work through this somehow!!!!

Was not able to comment on yesterday's post, but You must agree this snowflake looks very familar. This one is tatted with some beautiful thread which really shows up the pattern. It is so annoying when people copy other people's designs, which originally have been offered for free and then ask people to pay for them. On the whole though the tatting community are a very generous bunch, sharing tips, techniques and amazing patterns. Thank you

Very beautiful Work, I get those problems too, it seems to be when my computer does its updates and it changes everthing like thatakes it easier for me. And it just takes longer, when the old way was just fine. I think they should ask you if you want the update in certain areas.

Love the gold beads! - but I can't see that version on the pattern link, am I missing something? The snowflower is eagerly awaited.

I'm currently working on a technique page for the middle of that version, Maureen. Hope to get it done over the weekend.

Really love the shape of the star with the gold beads, and look forward to the technique page.

Can't believe how busy you are! It's all I can do to just read the blogs! You and I are the same age, but there is no way I can keep up with you!

Thread looks lovely for this pattern. Like the blue you used to outline the star. Gives it a wintery look.

Have you checked out the Mac version of LibreOffice? Google Libreoffice for Mac and you will get lots of links.

I'm using a Mac and that version and it worked well on the laptop but not on the iMac!!!! I think I've got gremlins living in the iMac!!! Nick's fixed it for now but I'm not sure how!!! Thanks for the suggestion.

What a shame! Just because you have a design that looks similar to someone else's does not mean she stole yours. I hope you apologize and repent of your bad thoughts for a fellow-tatter!
