I took the photos as promised yesterday and here they are.
The one on the left is the first square I did. That's using what the Tunisian crochet sites call 'simple stitch'. It gives a firm, dense fabric.
Having tried that one the yellow is a variation where I've pulled the thread through (as with the simple stitch) but then done a double crochet (English dc) and then carried on.
This grew a lot faster but gave a looser fabric which is fine.

Pretty samples! Do you have a project in mind?
I've been reading up on Tunisian crochet lately. I was sorting through my hooks and needles and found the Tunisian crochet hook I used when I was in junior high. I never learned more than the simple stitch. I think I might be more interested in learning if I had one of the new hooks with a cable attached. I have watched some interesting YouTube videos.
I'm following your progress on the Tunisian crochet with great interest.
In the previous post I mentioned that there are several types of 'afghan hooks' which can be used for Tunisian crochet, and I'm wondering if you received the comment. Also it seems very unusual that there are no comments from anyone showing on your tatted stars post (I commented there, also). Hope this one gets through! I do receive the statement that 'comment is awaiting approval by author'.
Both look great!! :)
I suddenly found a whole lot of comments awaiting moderation, Kathy. I wondered at one point if people had stopped reading my blog!!!! I've not been too well either which doesn't help. I usually get notifications of comments awaiting approval but haven't for lots lately.
Finally got your comment about the Tunisian hooks.
Not really got a project in mind, Diane but maybe a cushion cover?
