I'm in deep doldrums over blogger at the moment. I had a comment from Ninetta on the post two days ago and she said-
"I've 3 button under here, "publish", "preview" and "notify me", but I rarely click the second and third. The "notify me" disappears when you open for example an incognito tab, when google doesn't recognise you. Hope this help to understand."
This is exactly what I used to have under people's blog posts but the 'notify me' has disappeared and the other two just don't seem to work. I'm having a MAJOR sulk about this as it appears I'm being rude and not making comments on blogs. I've been fiddling with the settings but that doesn't seem to have worked either.
In the first picture of this post you can see the start of the second sock. I thought I'd got it worked out properly but sadly it proved I hadn't!!!

As you'll see in the second picture the socks don't match!!! Obviously I realised shortly after the first picture that things just weren't going to work out for the best but, being the optimist I am I decided that I wasn't going to waste time and yarn over taking it all undone and starting again.
I'm surprised that they didn't match as I'd followed Terry's advice just as I did on the blue pair. The only consolation I have is that they'll be permanently hidden under my trousers!!!!! Nobody but me will ever see them.
Oh, that's wrong cause you already have!!!

The ribbing and first two stripes match so I'd say there's an issue with the yarn ball and not with your knitting. If you check socks projects on Ravelry you'll find many socks that don't match. I have a few pairs myself, it doesn't bother me that much. It makes a pair absolutely unique and that's part of the fun too :)
The socks look lovely, nobody will crawl up your trouser leg to see if they match! There is one brand of sock wool, I think it's Regia, which is guaranteed to result in perfectly matching socks because there is a special coloured string exactly halfway through the ball!
They don't look bad, and if someone were to say something, they have too much time on their hands!! ;)
Take heart - apparently it's all the rage to wear socks that don't match and it's usually completely different. I like them!
I rather like them this way. My college-aged niece says socks that don't exactly match, just like these, are all the rage!
Socks that don't match are the new "in" thing, according to a teenage friend. :)
These look just fine Jane! I really like the color palette. And I'm delighted you've mastered Continental knitting! I'd have to say something happened in the manufacturing process, as the patterning started out just right. There must have been a break in the thread. It would take a lot of patience to unwind each ball ahead of time to see if each skein made the exact color changes all the way through. I still can't imagine how these yarns (and even Lizbeth tatting threads) are manufactured. It's a great idea, but there is an argument for customers wanting the skeins to be perfect. However, these days some go out of their way to avoid 'matching' things! Enjoy your lovely socks!
Who says socks have to match? I knitted some 'Frankensocks' made from leftovers of other socks I'd knitted. I love them, and they definitely don't match. :D Next time I have enough bits collected, I'll knit another pair. As long as they're all the same type of fiber and same weight, I'm happy.

They look fine. I suspect not many would notice the mismatch when worn.
sometimes it is the way the yarn is dyed and has nothing whatsoever to do with your technique. as i write this, there are 3 buttons below including the notify one. However, i have not tried to use the notify button without also leaving a comment
Thanks for your comment, Ladytats. Testing my comments on my own blog doesn't seem to work at all now. I don't seem to be able to leave comments on anybody's blogs at the moment. I've changed my password on google and that's made no difference. Just going to try again on my own blog but my last comment didn't go through!!!
Now that's interesting, Maureen. Next time I want to knit socks I'll be looking for it!!!
Maureen's right, it's a Regia yarn called Pairfect. I bought one to try at Wool Warehouse. I haven't had the time to knit the socks yet.
I’ll be looking on their website in the morning, craftie sylvie. Thanks for the heads up.
Regia Pairfect, Jane- I remembered the name!
Hi there it's me, I am also visiting this web site on a regular basis, this website is genuinely
