My new book

I mentioned this book back a few weeks ago and it’s only now that I’m able to start on the pattern that I bought it for.

I’m not a fan of diagram patterns so this is going to be a ‘double challenge’.  When I started tatting back in 1956 all patterns were the fully written style and diagrams were non existent.  All you ‘got’ were a black and white picture!!!

The pattern is probably not the most sensible of all to make a start with but I’ve always been a bit ‘hot headed’ when it comes to challenges!!!!  I intend to work it front side/back side.  So here’s round 1.  Done and dusted!!

Looks interesting. Love the colours.

I have always found diagrams difficult too, and road maps!( I still navigate with my trusty” Gregory’s”). I am much more competent with them these days than I used to be, deciphering diagrams stretches my brain.

Pretty little motif! I can't remember if I have that book or not. I've kind of lost interest in buying new books just because they're new and available. Going through my craft supplies has made me realize that my hobby of collecting is far greater than my ability to do all of the things I'd like to! I'll be watching for more from this book!

Hmmmmm, I'm still slow catching onto your front/back method!

I am not very good at reading some diagrams. MUCH prefer the way you do it Jane - with well-written directions accompanied by a diagram. I bought a book with just diagrams several years ago, and I figured out a few, but I'm simply clueless about the more complex ones.

This is the first time I’ve tackled a diagram only pattern, Maureen and GoldenMom, and it was probably not a good idea to start with something so complicated!!!! BUT I was never afraid to challenge myself - so far, so good!!! Thank goodness for BC3!!!!
