Thank you for all your support yesterday and I do have further news.
There are at LEAST two further books being sold by different ‘authors’ with exactly the same introduction and layout of the cover. However the other two have used other people’s images, I think.
One poor lady who commented on Facebook or this blog said she’d ordered 12 books and they all turned out to be the same. Fortunately Amazon refunded her money but what a nasty experience.

I spent some time looking at tatting books on Amazon. The most telling sign for me is that I’ve never heard of these authors.
No blog, no social media profile.

That always make me sad.
Makes it very difficult for genuine writers of books. Not just tatting books, I suspect.
And it's so frustrating for a beginning tatter looking to learn. How are they to tell the real books from these fakes? Although not having an entry on somethingunderthebed.com would indicate research would be a good idea (cause there might be a valid reason for it not to be listed yet - but at least it's a starting point).

Why are there so many mean and rude people in the world who take advantage of someone else’s talent and hard work.
For what I understand of all the comments it’s spread everywhere and very difficult (if not impossible) to solve it.
This costs you so much time and energy.

Oh my! The "plot" thickens. I had no idea it was that prevalent. SO sad that this is happening so often and under different names. I guess the BEST way we can combat it is to educate buyers to BEWARE! Also to promote new books from legitimate sources, like you did for the last Martha Ess book. We need to support those who we know are active, talented tatters. I know it's hard for "newbies" though.
Good luck in stopping these people. It seems there's always someone out there stealing from others.
My youngest daughter is a romance novelist, and she found out several years ago that her books were being published on various ebook platforms in other countries without her knowledge. Those scammers were charging more for her books than she was. She did contact lawyers about how to stop them, but the lawyer fees were more than she could afford as a beginning independent author.
Sadly, Lace-loving Librarian, this will, in the end, stamp out creativity. I realised the same years ago that it was too expensive to fight these issues. RIP creativity.
What the people putting up these books are doing is so petty... I bet they were aiming to still make some quick money before the copyright claims. Maybe these books were even AI creations...
