Test tatting

One of my very, very favourite designers is Martha Ess.  Her books are the ones I go to time after time - mainly (I'll admit) for her critters as the grandkids love them almost as much as I do!!!!

I'm honoured yet again to be asked by her to test tat a few patterns for her.  Here's one I've just done.  Isn't it just SO CUTE?

When I stay with Joanie in SC my greatest joy is being with her and her DH but the bonus is to have the time to watch the birds at her feeding table and even more entrancing is watching the hummers.  Just WISH we had hummingbirds where I live - but on second thoughts I'd never get anything done if we did!!!!

What a lovely little bird! I can see why you like Martha's patterns. I like your choice of colors and bead. It looks like it is ready for flight!

Too cute! I can't wait for the book.

My neighbor has a hummingbird feeder on his balcony. Early in the morning, around 7-ish is when I usually see hummers and wild canaries out there.

Love the humming bird. We have 22 varieties of Hummers here on the ridge. Loyal keeps 3 feeders going during their migration season. they all hang in a row outside the kitchen window (the one over the sink). Loyal loves watching birds; he isn't a 'certified' bird watcher but I've bought him books and binoculars and he does love finding a new bird.
I can't wait for Martha's book either...I love her critters even though I'm only 'so so' at block tatting. Sometimes I have a spectacular result and other times I do not do as well... xx P
