Gorgeous are they beads or buttons in the middle?

Red and Margaret - they are known as shell beads and have a hole down the centre. I bought them while I was 'abroad' on the Isle of Wight last year! They really are a stunning bead but it was 'how to' incorporate them that caused me a few moment's thought!!!

Beautiful Jane. I can't pick a favorite.

So, how *did* you attach the shell beads to the tatting? Is there a pattern coming up...? (I may just have a go at copy-catting your lovely things if not, you know...)

Hi creativasuculencia - it's been done before but not quite the way I did it - so I found out after!!!! There is a pattern coming up and I'm working on the drawings at the moment.

Cool! You drawings are so clear. I'll be looking forwards to the pattern then (and maybe stopping by at the bead shop...)
