I do like this little square I found in an old book. Not sure yet how it'll work out joining several together as it doesn't look very 'square'!!! In fact the outer chains look 'stressed' where they join in the book. I'll tell you which book it is when I have more time and there'll be further progress on this in due course too!!
I'll play with the idea for a while and let you all know 'what happens next'!! The book has a lot of designs which appeal to me. Watch this space!!!
Hopefully the toucan will be ready tomorrow!!!!

Interesting design - I couldn't see the square at first!
Nor me, either, Maureen!!!! Will post a picture of the pattern to show how the original looks sometime. Not the pattern, of course, just the finished item!
If the 'corner' chains were just a little longer.... well.... maybe??
Ooh.... maybe a tiny RoCH on the corners??? VBG.... Ok... I'll leave the twiddly 'bits' to the designer!!! LOL
It looks beautiful!!! :) I could see the square, but I think it the rings on the outside were smaller it would be more obvious-just a thought. :)
I was working another one of Jon's Star Chic. I have only done four repeats, and it makes a lovely square. This square is very pretty. I can't wait to see how they will look joined together. Have a fabulous day!
If you like squares, Happy Occhi has lots http://www.hhtatting.com/detail.cfm?ID=3238
I think if you lengthened the corner chains to about 12-12, it would be more square and easier to join multiple motifs, plus it would sort of make the whole thing look more open. But of course you've already thought of that, and that's what you're going to show us next.
Oh, my gosh, that's so pretty. It's really beautiful! I'm sorry, but I can't see the square. Anyway, I think linking these together would make a gorgeous top lined with a pretty silk or crepe de shine. It just screams to me to be worn and shown off. Sooooooo pretty!
I just saw the square. (Head slap!)
Lengthening the chains made it too 'floppy' for my liking, Miranda, so I tried another idea!!
