Taster of the new pattern!!!

It must be six months or so ago since Joanie first told me about an American craze for loom bands or rainbow looms. Well they've just 'hit' the UK and you can read a bit about them here.

We've even got two shops in town who have the bands and a guy on the Friday market has been selling them too. So, what's this got to do with tatting you may well ask?

BC3 (that's brain cell three) and I decided that there has to be more uses for these pesky little rubber rings so I bought a packet a few weeks ago. My excuse? Well, Abbi may want to play with them when the kids come for a week in the summer!!!! I convinced me, anyway!!!

So, here's the first design (nothing complicated) using these intriguing little circles of rubber!!!

I started off using a bead for the centres and then tried 'without'. A few beads, one shuttle, a modicum of finger tatting and it's a fun, easy tat. I will get the pattern finished off today and uploaded tomorrow.

Haha!!! I've just posted about those as well!! One of the kids presented me with a bracelet yesterday, and I've been wondering about what to do with the 'bands'!!! Can't wait for the pattern!!!

Oh, good! Now I can swipe all the ones N leaves all over the floor. I can tell her, "Clean up or they're going in my tatting supplies!"

The neat thing is that they are silicone and not rubber. So, they should last quite a while. I have had so many rubber bands disintegrate on me.
BC-3 is doing grand! Do you ever rent it out?
;-)

Oh, StringyDogs, there's a BC3 in all of us!!! As for renting mine out - you'd be surprised at how badly he behaves most of the time!!!

My grandchildren love those Rainbow Looms! Eva has even begun designing her own charms. I'm sure she'd be thrilled to share some of her bands with me.

I don't even have kids or grandkids, but I have the bands in several colors, and have made some bracelets without the loom! Haven't gotten around to writing about my tatting idea yet, but I never thought of tatting OVER them! Amazing BC3 in action! I have to say that I've
never seen these 'striped' ones!
How cool!

You might be interested in my post published today! You're a big part of it!
