A pile of work

Look at THIS!!! What a lot of sewing ahead of me! I work in batches and do all the cutting out, then all the ironing on of batting and stiffening and then finally I have the pleasure of sewing it/them all up!!!

The worst part of it all is the sewing on of the buttons as closures!! No idea why but I tend to leave that task until I'm 'out and about' at one of my craft groups so I've got people to talk to while I'm doing them.

The next task will be to make the inserts and finding little bags to put them in. I like it when it gets to this stage (sewing, that is) as I can listen to a book or podcast and be in a little world all of my own!!!

One thing I’ve recently started doing is downloading audio books from our local library to listen to while I sew.  Makes a change from listening to podcasts!!!

I tend to do the same :) The preparation phase seems to last forever but then what a delight to sew everything up! No audio book though (so far), I simply deafen anyone around with very loud music!

I'm not fond of the prep phase, but sewing is fun! I tend to do the finishing while sitting in my chair and watching t.v.

I work at our local library and I'm a big reader. I don't have time to actually read a book any more so I've been listening to audiobooks for a few years now. So while I'm tatting or working around the house I always have a good book on. Have fun sewing.

I like audio books. I listen to them when I am doing almost everything. What books do you like, Jane? Fantasy? Crime? Drama? I listen to tv shows and movies on the computer too.

I like crime, mysteries and almost anything that’s easy to listen to. I’ve usually just listened to podcasts and my favourite is The Archers Omnibus which is weekly and fits in with a good walk!!! I watch catch up on the iPad but not often!!

I started listening to audio books when I was in graduate school and didn't really have time to read for pleasure anymore. I was missing reading so much but it was easy to check out an audio book and listen to it on my commute to work on my way home from school. Now I have a little bit more time to read for fun but find I still like the audio books or podcasts for when I'm at the gym or cleaning house or even during work.

I beg your pardon? I didn't quite catch what you said.
