On Thursday we went shopping.
On the way from one town to another we stopped at a bead outlet. Nothing like the ones you get in America - NO WAY. This was a place out in the country and the shop itself is in a barn. Well, it's got doors and windows but it's small. There again - do you need a huge place for small beads (and buttons)!!!!
I'll show you what I bought. There's a string of what look like Swarovski beads which are SO pretty. Then there are the funny tag things which I designated as 'useful'!!!!! Then there are the beads. I know you can hardly see them but believe me they are drop dead gorgeous. And they're square. I don't think I've ever seen square beads before. I got a tub of these blackish ones and one of an opaque white. Really pleased with both sorts.

Those 'funny tag things' are phone charm loops. All the kids love them. I have a tiny leather penguin on mine. You push the loop through the ring, which is somewhere on the phone and put the other end through it, and attach a charm. I have to make a tiny piece of tatting for it.
I'm already looking forward to seeing what you are going to make with them!
Very cool beads!
I use those 'funny tag things' to identify my scissors when I take them to classes. I attach beads, charms, etc. to the 'tag thing' and then attach it to the scissors. I love them.
Before I taught in Canada last Sept., I went looking for bead samples and found square, triangular and hexagon, all very small like this. I got a package of each so I could hand out samples but have not tried tatting with them yet. I would want them to be the focal point somehow. I think I got them at Hobby Lobby - but don't remember ever seeing them before that! I've seen them in the big bead catalogs and bead sources online but that's never the same as having them in hand!
They use those tags a lot on little stuff, like ipod cases, cell phones, etc. You'll come up with something very clever, I'm sure!
I'm sure those square beads will come in very useful, hec all bead are useful!
