Another grand tidy up!

Well it had to happen - another day (or good part thereof) in the tatting cupboard!!!  It had got in quite a state thanks to the diamond mat!!!

When it came to deciding which thread went with which I'd have ALL my of them out of the cupboard and then (after decisions were made) I'd just chuck them back in again.  Here are two pictures before I started the grand tidy!!!  Can you see all the odd balls just 'chucked' in there?  On the second one you can see the boxes 'bulging' with threads I DID try to put inside them.  No way would the lids go back on!!

Here's one during the process and with me trying to fit/force the balls of threads into their boxes!!!  The bead 'situation' wasn't too bad as I've not touched those while 'diamonding'.
Finally the 'after' picture.  I'm delighted to show this as ALL the threads are now in their appropriate coloured boxes.  Wonder how long I'll stay tidy this time?!?!?!

Doesn't look too bad at all in the first place! I usually organize when I can't find my scissors. Without them, tatting just can't happen! It's so nice how you have it all organized. I really ought to get a system going myself....

Very tidy, well done Jane!

Keep tatting a few more diamonds and you'll have enough for a bedspread!

You are so organised - colour-coded threads! Mine is all in boxes and drawers according to sizes and brands - I know on which level everything is, but nobody else would have a hope of navigating it!

Your untidy tatting closet is more organized than mine is when it's tidy! I keep saying I'm going to clean/organize my sewing room, but it's getting to the point where I'm afraid to go in!

Jane , just the idea that you hold it tidy gaves me a lot of fun, because it tells me thatI think I am right. I think in this case we booth are the same

Jane, you really have me confused because I don't see all that much "chuckage." You don't want to see my thread storage corner. *sheepish.grin*

But bravo for such a grand and elegant tidy! It will be all neat and inviting after your summer travels.

Oh - it looks both Grand AND Tidy!

Do you do windows? How about doing a tidy up of my closet when you come to the States?

I'm jealous! I want a place to put all my tatting supplies so I can find them! Something like that would be perfect! Instead mind is spread out over the top shelf of a bookshelf, a "craft box", & about 4 or 5 smaller bead & box containers under my bed. *sigh* I want it I want it I want it

It seems a never ending project this tidying up of threads, beads etc.
Will examine your efforts next time I visit!

I would love a cupboard or room to keep all my crafting things, I wonder how long it will last before it ends up as before. well done on your colour organisation.

Ha ha! If I got this organized, I would just admire my thread and not dare start anything for fear of messing it up! Well, for a day or so anyway :) Looks wonderful!
