This is my 'Travelling Wilbury' project!!! I started it waaaay back and it's been in my handbag ever since. I actually worked on it quite a lot when we were on our trip to the USA and back. I also did some while on lifeguard duty too. AFTER the diamond project, I might add.
On the way to bed last night I threw it under the iron but it really does need pressing properly. Maybe I'll get it done later today!!!
It's only taken a week to get it sewn on as I did that in the odd moments during the afternoons. Evenings are 'Strictly Come Tatting' times!!

It looks very pretty!! What thread did you use? I love the colours in it!!
That made me sit up and think!! I've just had a look - it's Wildflower Garden (154) in the Lizbeth range. Size 80. Along with that I used a very old Coats thread that I've had for more years than I care to admit. PLEASE don't use torture on me to make me remember just HOW many years that is!!!!
Love that Wildflower Garden - it makes a colorful edging. Love the edging pattern too!
Jane,
This is lovely!!
I must inquire....what is a proper pressing? Do you do anything in particular?
Asking because I've got several pieces to press.
Thanks!!
john
Oh, John, by a proper pressing I mean actually making sure there are no chains folded over on the outside, that the centre is 'wrinkle free' (wish I could run the iron over my face!) etc. All I did was plonk the hanky on the ironing board last night and ran the iron over quickly!!!!
very very nice, hope my edging looks as good when I finally get it done.
when you press tatting, do you use a damp press cloth and very little pressure so the stitch definition isn't squashed?
I'm very rough on my tatting so I don't!!!! I just fling an iron at it. If it's something with beads then I usually put a thick cloth between the iron and the tatting but I never worry about stitch definition. Actually I've never thought about it either!!!!
The edging looks great and that color really looks like a garden. I find the hardest thing about edgings are adding them to the cloth. I would rather be tatting them!
The edging look beautiful, love the colour, the thread is so pretty.

Love this - very pretty colours in that thread. What pattern is this?
Fox : )
It's the Fandango edging which is on my pattern page, Fox!!!!
Great colors!! I like the way that looks! :)
It's a beautiful edging and the colours are great.
