My Weekly November 2001

Well, well, well.  Look what I found!!!  Has anybody ever made this pattern, I wonder?  I know I did but I've no idea where the pieces are now.  Probably squashed in the box where I chuck everything when it's finished - unless I give the thing away, of course!!!!

The pattern is here if anybody wants it in digital form.  It seems like another lifetime since I did this.  Strange coming across these magazines again after all these years.

This must have seemed quite advanced in 2001! Your boxes certainly would have appealed to me! And no mention of the designer! But a great photo - very colorful!

A question about the earrings from the other magazine: How was the pin with the bead on the end used?

And one more note about this cover! Sally informed me about the Archers after I wrote in my blog about our REAL town of Ambridge (the 'a' pronounced like 'ample') where Old Economy is located - one of our major tatting venues! And DH's home town!
It was surrounded by farmland until American Bridge took it over when Old Economy closed its doors in 1904, and the town of Ambridge was incorporated in 1905, ushering in (along with other steel mills) the steel era, employing thousands. Fortunately, historians saved the main buildings of OE! The steel mills themseves closed down in the 1980s, many jobs lost. And it was necessary to tear down the mills. Ironic. And OE survives, thanks to many volunteers!

That is an interesting idea. I will have to look into the pattern. Thanks for showing us.

Indeed it is the correct page! Thanks so much for fixing it, and I now see how the pin is used. I appreciate the pattern!
