Sad or happy?

Sad that this is the end of another ball of thread but happy that I COULD allow myself to buy more.

BUT I can't because I have a lot of thread that needs using first!!! I'm keeping a tight lid on my stash building and am making BC3 use what we've got first!!!

So, happy that I'm getting closer to being allowed to buy more but sad to see another empty nest!!!!

Good for you for emptying it entirely. I have an unreasonable number of spools with just a smidgeon of thread on them.

I need to work on self control with thread. It will be impossible for me to use all the lovely colors I have, yet I still let myself be tempted. It's a challenge!

I tried that and failed BIG TIME!! Always seems to be that ONE colour I really need but it is not worth paying postage for one ball when it us the same for 6.....

Jane I use smidgens up on dangles!!!
Diane - I’ve watched your addiction grow and grow (same with shuttles) over the years and envied you the space you must have to keep them all in.
That’s a good way of appeasing your conscience, Liyarra (Jenni). I will consider that when I allow myself to buy more!!!!

I'm TRYING to use up my stash, but at times I lose the battle and succumb to buying more thread. Shipping for one ball sometimes costs more than the thread, but if you buy ENOUGH at one time, you might get free shipping. Even if it's not free, it doesn't cost any more than it would to ship that one ball, so the cost per ball is much lower. I've been keeping my empty labels and cores in a small plastic bag to show me how much I've used up in a year. Start a new 'progress' bag each year, and it helps me keep trying to use up that big stash instead of buying more. One more empty cardboard core for the bag, YAY!

That’s a good idea, Stephanie if you’ve got the space to keep things! We just don’t have that space!!!!

I have a copy of that old Coats pattern, but it’s one I haven’t attempted. I remember why! At the time I was tatting a square Doily by Norma Benporath and I just couldn’t face another session if “ translation”

Life has settled back on it’s axis and Doris is coming to you today.
