My own Precious butterfly

Having found the piece of hairpin lace I thought it would be a grand idea to use it before I put it away safely again!!!  Oh, how I HATE being tidy - it's so hard to find things that you've put away tidily!!!

Here's my butterfly.  Very easy pattern to follow - thanks Hope.

What a lovely idea, to include the hairpin tatting! I have a couple of hairpin looms, but although it's supposed to be simple, I can't manage it!
Gorgeous butterfly - what's the thread?

Hi Maureen. Thanks for dropping by again - you sure like to punish yourself each day!!!! The thread I used to do the body and outer wing is a Flora HH thread. Colour number is 216. I've used this shade a lot lately - mainly because I've not put it away 'tidily' yet!!!!

I have done hairpin lace before, but never thought of using it with tatting. Thanks for the idea! Your butterfly is lovely and looks like it is ready for flight!

Tatting and hairpin lace? The thought gives me massive shudders (I loathe doing h.l. !); however, your example of the combo is stellar!

It's cute. I just received some hairpin lace looms from a lovely fellow tatter in Chile! I hope to be doing some of the fun hairpin lace/tatting combo patterns I've seen around.

Your butterfly is nice and looks like it would be easy. Very pretty, too.
