What am I doing at the moment? OK, funny guys, I know I'm sitting in front of the computer but what I REALLY meant is what am I doing tatting wise.
I'm working on hats. Small, flat hats. I've done 3D ones in the past (they're on my site somewhere) but I was asked if I knew of a flat one. I went round and round the internet to try and find one already 'out there'. I couldn't and I know there are some somewhere. SO disappointing.
The lady who asked was so sweet that I then thought that I could try and make one. Of course, me being me, I start on one and then have ideas for another!!!
One is done. It will be 'card sized', I think. The second one is rubbish so will be re-vamped again this evening. I'll show you the first one but I'm quite ashamed of the second. Actually I'll show you that when I've (hopefully!!!!) improved it!!!!

Hi Deanna - it's a number 20 thread and the finished hat measures a tad over 1 1/2" across. The next one will be brooch sized and on a button. That's IF it doesn't get thrown out of the window shortly!!!!
Perfect for the Red Hat Society ladies. My cousin Trudy is a Queen of her "hive" of RH gals…When you turn loose of the pattern (LOL) OR (hint) if you list them on ETSY, I could buy one! There are a lot of Red Hat Women out there. It's not my cuppa; but, we all march to our own drum. I really like what you came up with in your pattern!

Sally - now you've got the whole universe thinking I don't wear knickers!!!! For the Americans reading this - knickers is the same as 'underwear'!!!!!! BUT I DO wear knickers to keep me warm!!!!!
tatting a red hat is not "being" a red hat... Don't get Jane's knickers in a knot or she will NEVER be able to wrap her remaining brain cells around what she wants to do!!! And I admit- my jaw dropped wide open when I read Sallys comment... lol... roflol... wait till I share that tidbit with my red hat friends....
No idea what a Red Hat is so I am off to look at the Internet! Funny, what you learn on a tatting site......
