Introduction and practice piece for TIAS 2011

Good morning.  Here is the link to the introduction and practice piece for the TIAS 2011.

All links will be at the top of the page (above the posts) as they are released.

Please do shout if you need any help with this.  I'll be around most of the day and for the duration of the game.
My thanks must go wholeheartedly to three special people for being 'there' and for the following reasons. Gina (tattinggoddess) who has tested the whole pattern (brave woman!), Riet (Bengelblog) who is gallantly translating the whole thing into Dutch for her tatting group and finally Ridgewoman who tested the practice piece out for me with even fewer pictures.  She always says she can't 'fathom' techniques very easily so this is why I asked her to try it ahead of the TIAS!!!  I'm pleased to report that she flew through it!!!

I shall have to gather my supplies - off to the bead shop to find size 9 beads! I can detour that way when I visit a daughter on Friday!

*bounces in chair* goodie! goodie! Goodie!

What if the beads are cubes? Is that ok?

Jane Eborall said...

Hmmmm, Sewicked, round would be better - square would be 'unethical'!!!!!!

yavamoni said...

So, 'unethical', is that a hint as to what the pattern is, Jane?

Jane Eborall said...

Heeee, heeee, yavamoni, you'll see. One thing you need to know is that I'm a terrible tease!!! The lass who tested the pattern for me didn't guess what it was until she'd finished. That could mean it's a bad pattern, though!!!!!!

haha... you're too funny Jane!

I'm happy though - I already know the technique!!

Now I've just got ants in me pants waiting Jan 12

Do the beads need to be on the thread? & if so, which one?

Sewicked said...

Shouldn't there be another picot (in the written instructions) on the 2nd chain? And do you make the vsp after the 3rd ring?

Jane Eborall said...

Ah, beads, sewicked. No and no is the answer!!! All will be obvious when we get going!!! I'll check the instructions on the intro too. Thanks.

Do you think black and white with red beads would be ethical, teaser, er, Jane?
